Our church’s vision is to be an authentic missional community. How do we, as a community, be more authentic with one another?
We all struggle at different times with authenticity, and for some of us, it is very difficult for us to open up to another person and even perhaps even to God. If we can truly open ourselves up before God and before Man, it will free us to be able to live genuinely.
Shame keeps us from being able to be authentic before God and before one another. It compels us to hide our true selves. The solution to shame is for us to know that, despite our wrongdoings, we are fearfully and wonderfully made by God.
God is familiar with all our ways, whether good or bad, and He still loves us. If we confess our sins, He will forgive us and purify us from all unrighteousness.
We must also open ourselves up before one another so that darkness will not continue to have any hold over us. This frees us then to be able to live genuinely before God and men. As God has accepted us, being a community of God, we must accept one another.
