ABOUT THE PROGRAMME
What is Love202x?
Love202x connects volunteers with families in our community for a season of genuine friendship and practical support. It started in 2021 and has since journeyed with dozens of families across Singapore — through difficult seasons, small victories, and the simple joy of knowing someone cares.
Rooted in Aldersgate Methodist Church, Love202x is driven by a belief that every family deserves to be seen, valued, and supported. This love flows from a simple but profound truth: as 1 John 4:19 reminds us, “We love because he first loved us.”

Every family has a story
We walk alongside families in our community who are navigating a challenging season — whether that's financial pressure, raising children alone, or simply needing to know they're not doing life by themselves. Every family is treated with respect, warmth, and discretion.

A Befriender is simply someone who shows up. You'll be matched with a family, guided by a senior volunteer, and embark on a journey to develop an authentic friendship with the family at a comfortable pace. There's no script — just genuine care.

Common Questions

Visiting your family periodically, staying in touch between visits, and being a consistent and caring presence. The programme team will guide you on the approach and rhythm that works best.

Absolutely. Orientation and ongoing support are provided throughout. The most important quality is simply a willing heart that desires to offer authentic friendship & support.
