Romans 1:1-17 is apostle Paulโs opening letter to Romans, the fulfillment of Godโs promises through the prophets. The hope of eternal life through his son Jesus Christ, son of God, who through his incarnation, took on human flesh and lived among us and being resurrected. The ultimate proof of his divinity and the truth of gospel.
The gospel has its purpose and direction. It is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes, final deliverance from sin and power. It is also the righteous of God being revealed. It is the initiative of God when he โjustifiesโ the sinner, an action of โputting it rightโ, giving the person a new legal standing before him just as we are. However, one can experience this righteous of God coming through faith. Faith is more than believing God exists. It is trusting in him, relying on his promises and living in obedience even cannot see the outcome. Faith involves believing in Godโs character, his promises and our part, trust and obedience. For Paul, faith and obedience are distinct and yet always connected. Genuine faith naturally lead to obedience.
