Psalm 90 was known as the prayer of Moses. It speaks of Godโ€™s eternal nature in contrast to the temporal nature of human life. Our time on earth is short. Therefore, it is important to seek Godโ€™s divine guidance and wisdom to live a meaningful and purposeful life. So how should we live our lives?

The first way is to โ€œnumber our daysโ€. It is the recognition of Godโ€™s sovereignty over our lives and that our purpose is only found in God. This also means holding ourselves accountable to Him for every single action we have done in our lives.

The second way is to recognize our need for Godโ€™s mercy and unfailing love during suffering and hardship. It expresses our deep dependence on Godโ€™s grace in every circumstance and remind us that without them, we are completely helpless on our own. Because of Godโ€™s great love for us, we are not destroyed by our sins and He is always faithful and true.

Lastly, we recognize our need to ask for Godโ€™s favour in all our endeavours, bearing good fruits and His name being glorified. We should boldly approach God to ask for his favour, with the intention to glorify him and not our selfish desire.
