When circumstances donโ€™t go well with us, we start to blame God. But the problem is us, not God. God is intimately concerned about us, and works and transforms us from the inside out. So when we feel God has abandoned us, what should we do?

  1. Do not be discouraged and give in to self-pity. We should sort out what happened, learn something from it and move on.

  2. Be aware of anger and hate. Donโ€™t let it control us as we may become captive of our past and seek revenge. Maintain hope and faith in believing things will work out.

  3. Even if God is silent, we should wait, believe He is at work in our lives and keep trusting Him.

  4. Sit quietly and in silence. Listen to his quiet, still small voice. We should not lean to our own understanding but only to God.

  5. During times of adversity, we may have a new discovery of ourselves and life may take shape in unexpected way. It may be a season of preparation for new ministry.

  6. Time is not guaranteed and we need to live in the moment that God gives us, not in the past or the future.

Therefore, when we go our way, make mistakes and cause problems in our lives, always cling to God. God will take all, turn it around and make us more like his son, Jesus Christ.
