In Philippians 3, Paul begins with a stellar list of credentials. His list is attractive to those who lived in Paulโ€™s world. These were the measures of success. However, Paul teaches us that the mark of success as a Christian is how willing we are to give everything up for Christ.

How willing we are to suffer for the sake of Christ. Whether or not weโ€™re aware of it, there is a battle ongoing. A battle within our hearts, to choose God and make everything else poison. Or to choose this world and make God our poison.

We have a Saviour who took on the poison, in order that we may have forgiveness, that we may become His body and His children, so you and I can be saved and walk in freedom!

Paul reminds us to live as born-again Christians. Children of God who are willing to suffer, children of God who are willing to be like Christ at His death, submitting to the Fatherโ€™s will.
