As we grow older and walk through the different seasons of life, we must remember that we are made in the image of God. God created us with a purpose — to reflect His image to others around us, for we are His children. So how will we live out our years in these different seasons of life?

Firstly, we are to live lightly. We acknowledge that everything comes from the Lord and ultimately belongs to Him. We are not to cling to worldly possessions or achievements, but to learn to live with gratitude and contentment. When we recognize that our time on earth is limited, we become more intentional in appreciating each day as God’s gift. Although outwardly we may experience weakness and the passing of time, inwardly God is renewing us daily. Therefore, we are to live wisely, trusting that God is at work in our lives.

Secondly, we are called to live contemplatively. This means learning to slow down, reflect deeply, and pay attention to God’s presence around us. We appreciate the people He places in our lives, the nature around us, and the Word He speaks. As we listen to God more attentively, He transforms us to be more like Christ and draws us closer to Him.

Lastly, we are to live courageously. We praise God for all His righteous deeds and mighty works. We point others to God through our words and faithful lifestyle. When we declare God’s mighty acts, we teach and tell the next generation about God’s deeds.

Whatever season we are in, may we learn to live lightly, live contemplatively, and live courageously. May our lives become living monuments that point others to God. May we faithfully pass on His wisdom and faithfulness to the next generation. Are you willing to do that?
