Ready, Get Set… - Rev Manik Corea

𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿'𝘀 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀: 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗪𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗚𝗼𝗱'𝘀 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻?

We're called to join the Father's business to reach a world that is lost.

How can you and I participate? We can learn through the 5 Rs:

1. Resurrection

Jesus' earthly ministry did not end with His death, resurrection, and ascension. He continued His work through His chosen apostles, and subsequently through the post-apostolic church in every period and place. The Christian faith rests on the resurrection of Jesus. Therefore, we obey Him.

2. Reign

The Kingdom of God is the central teaching theme of Jesus and the Gospels. When Jesus came, His message was: "Repent and believe, for the kingdom of God is at hand."

3. Requirement

To be on mission for God, we are required to be baptized in the Holy Spirit. We cannot do His work in our own strength.

4. Redemptive Plan

Jesus tells us to move from where we are to the ends of the earth, so that His Kingdom expands to include all nations.

5. Real Return

Jesus is going to come back personally and visibly — in the same way the apostles saw Him go.

Reflection:

1. Have we been filled with His Spirit?

2. How will we obey?
