Many things in the world are being shaken as history unfolds. Yet while everything that can be shaken will be shaken, God’s eternal kingdom remains unshaken. Therefore, God calls His people to pursue Him together in a community of believers.

As Christians, we can seek God individually, but we are also called to walk together as the family of God. Within community, we need mutual encouragement through exhortation, instruction, correction, and comfort. This culture of encouragement is cultivated by gathering in God’s presence, encouraging one another, drawing close to God, holding fast to the confession of our hope, and spurring one another toward love and good works. Through this, we can stand firm and grow in maturity in Christ.

For this culture of encouragement to flourish, biblical accountability is essential. Biblical accountability is the willingness to live openly before God and His people, both receiving and giving encouragement. It involves exhorting, instructing, admonishing, and comforting in relationships marked by mutual submission out of reverence for Christ. It also includes submitting to the spiritual authority God has established through the leaders He has appointed over His people. In doing so, we draw near to God with a sincere heart, hold fast to the hope we profess, and encourage one another to live lives marked by love and good deeds, all under God’s authority.

As believers gather regularly, we are able to confess our sins to one another and pray for one another. Through these relationships, God works to bring restoration and wholeness as we continue to grow together in Christ.
